Monday, 24th February 2014
Every day this week BBC Radio Stoke will be broadcasting a series of features looking at the impact of the World War One on people’s everyday lives in Staffordshire.
Reporter Allen Cook has been researching into five stories across the county. Throughout the week the features will be looking at the Minnie Pit disaster, the role played by Crewe Railway Station, German Prisoners of War at Brocton Camp on Cannock Chase, propaganda through pottery from Stoke’s Keele Street Pottery, and Ernest Egerton VC of Blythe Bridge.
All these features are available on the BBC’s website and on iplayer, along with many other stories from across the country. Follow this link to the BBC World War One at Home web pages: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01p356l
