Remembrance Leaves
The Borough Museum and Art Gallery are working on a number of projects to remember the Great War and the contribution made by local people.
In the lead up to Armistice Day on November 11 the museum has organised a free activity. In memory of the 737 men from Newcastle who gave their lives during the Great War children and visitor are being invited to make a Remembrance Leaf.
Visitors are invited to make a leaf and will chose a name of a fallen soldier from the Book of Remembrance to put on their leaf. On Armistice Day these leaves will be hung on trees in Brampton Park to honour those who lost their lives in the conflict.
The activity starts on Saturday October 4
