Cheadle Book Launch

Cheadle Discovery Group recently presented Year 6 of Cheadle Primary School with copies of a unique commemorative booklet. The short booklet, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, contains details about life in Cheadle during WW1, a selection of war poetry and a list of local men who served in the war.

Ivan Wozniak, trustee of the Discovery Group, said: “We really wanted to engage with the community and especially schools when we conceived the project.

“We are delighted the school will use them in their teaching.” The publication of the booklet follows months of research by members of Cheadle Historical Society, Cheadle British Legion and Cheadle Academy.”
