Launch of Brampton Museum’s World War 1 Films

The Brampton Museum, Newcastle-under-Lyme, commissioned two short films exploring the experiences of the town’s people on the home front and on the battlefield. The films are based on local sources e.g. diaries, poems, letters and council minutes. They also feature a reading of Wilfred Owen’s first published poem ‘Miners’ which was based around the Minnie Pit Disaster which took place in the borough in 1918.

The films were commissioned using HLF First World War: Then and Now funding.
