Great Haywood Books of Remembrance
Following the successful Great War Exhibition and Service last year, the Colwich Parish Great War Commemoration committee has concentrated in 2015 on producing four Books of Remembrance for the village of Great Haywood – one each for St. Stephen’s church, St. John’s church, the Memorial Hall and Colwich Parish Council. These Books contain accounts of the lives and deaths of the men from the village, including Shugborough, whose names appear on the village’s war memorials, and some whose names are missing from the memorials.
These Books were presented to representatives of the four organisations at the Parish Service of Remembrance at St. Stephen’s on Sunday 8th November. It is hoped to complete Books of Remembrance for Colwich and Little Haywood by 2017.
