William Harold Coltman VC Presentation
William Harold Coltman, was born and brought up in Burton on Trent, and this presentation tells the story of his life.
William agreed to go to war, but refused to fight. As a Christian he said he would not take life but go to help save lives. So he enrolled as a stretcher bearer.
As a result of his courage and bravery, he is now described as the highest decorated non-commissioned officer of the British army.
Amongst other awards he received the Victoria Cross – the highest award for any soldier.
A quiet unassuming man, this story is entitled, the story of the two crosses.
