Blore Great War Project
Blore Rural District History Society has instigated a project with the objective of creating a more detailed and lasting epitaph for our and future generations.
Our Great War Project commemorates the centenary of the Great War (1914-1918 (1919)) by recording as much information about the personal, family and military history of the names on the War Memorials in Churchs/Churchyards, and memorial plaques at the Hugo Meynell C of E (VC) Primary School) and Tyrley Locks including any known circumstances of their death and their resting place or commemoration
The aim is to research all the names listed for:
- Family history
- Photographs
- Date and place of death
- Location of internment or commemoration
There are 6 war memorials in the area and a booklet has been produced for each one.
