Tom Parsons’ War
At the outbreak of war in August 1914, Tom Parsons was living with his parents in Providence Terrace, Walsall Road, Landywood, Staffordshire. He signed up with the Royal Army Medical Corps at Whittington Barracks in Lichfield and served with them for the duration of the war.
Tom survived the Great War and lived until 1965. Over the last few years his great nephew, Andy Parsons, has been researching his uncle’s war service through a collection of family documents and memorabilia, including greetings cards.
